Science Awareness Platform
SciQuest Interactive Exhibition

SciQuest is a travelling science-education exhibition made available to communities and institutions wishing to promote science, engineering and technology (SET). The objective is to promote public understanding and appreciation of these disciplines especially in underprivileged communities.

What does the exhibition consist of?

The exhibition consists of nineteen colourful and attractive interactive and hands-on models, shown below. A wide range of science and technology themes and principles are covered ranging from optics, engineering, sound, mechanics, geography, mathematics and physics to spatial perception and bio-feedback. Models are robust, user friendly and encourage visitors to interact with them in order to clarify underlying principles. All age groups (including adults) will find the exhibition stimulating. It is especially suitable for organised educational school tours.

Who else may benefit?

If you already operate a science centre, you may wish to use this exhibition to further promote your centre and to expose outlying schools to the wonders of science. If you intend setting up your own science centre, this exhibition is an ideal example to show prospective donors what you have in mind. They will experience first hand just how much visitors, learners and educators can benefit from such a collection of hands-on models and how much participants enjoy interacting with science and technology in this manner.

Who operates the exhibition and what costs are involved?

The Museum of Science and Technology makes this exciting exhibition available for extended periods of up to three months to allow for maximum public exposure. There is no rental charge involved and only basic costs (transport and insurance) need to be budgeted for.

Who may apply?

Any organisation with a secure display area of about 200sqm and staff to supervise visitors may request the exhibition. We encourage outlying communities to apply so that those who are unable to visit science centres will have the opportunity to discover the excitement of SET for themselves. Priority will be given to applicants with access to disadvantaged or rural communities.
